How to clean and dry your Maddle
Cleaning
- After using your Maddle, you should always clean each component of the product that was in contact with water.
- We recommend rinsing the product’s component with fresh water before using Maddle’s Paddleboard Cleaning kit to clean it. This product will not only clean, but also protect your board from UV light damages to a certain extent.
- You may also rinse the product’s components with fresh water before cleaning it with water and soap.
- It is also highly recommended to remove any sand / debris / particle from the Maddle Paddle junctions. Debris can find its way inside and make it hard to disassemble the Maddle Paddle.
- Also, to prevent cross contamination of microorganisms and bacteria, you must always thoroughly clean your product before using it on a different body of water.
*Please note that sand, rocks, saltwater and the sun will deteriorate the product over time. This is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered by the warranty.
Drying
- After cleaning your Maddle and all its components, it is necessary to dry the products, You can let them air dry, or to accelerate the process, pat them with a towel before letting them air dry.
- Never let water go inside of the board, whether by the valve or by a puncture in the PVC. This will create mildew and mold inside, which may damage your board.
- If you do not have the necessary equipment / space / time to clean your Maddle right after use, complete this process as soon as you can.
- Make sure to never leave your Maddle dry in the sun, as the sun’s heat can damage the board over time
*Please note that improperly dried products can cause the product’s print and dye to leak / transfer.

How to fold and store your Maddle board
- When you are done using your Maddle and approach shore, make sure you step off your Maddle before reaching water that is too shallow. This will prevent scratches and punctures.
- Carry your Maddle on the shore using the handles and lay it face down on a soft surface that will NOT scratch / puncture the board, such as sand or grass rather than rocks, concrete or pebbles.
- Open the fin mechanism and remove the fins. Leave it open to help clean the product.
- Refer yourself to the maintenance sections 1 and 2 below to clean and dry the products. It is important to let your Maddle board dry adequately before folding it and storing it away.
- *On a clean and dry surface, flip your board face up and open the air valve cap by turning counterclockwise. Press down on the air valve tip. Please be mindful that air rushing out of your board at 15 PSI will create a LOT of noise. Let it empty itself of air for a few minutes.
- Alternatively, you can use your pump, by connecting the hose to the OUT of your manual pump or the DEFLATE function on your standard electric pump (not applicable to the compact electric pump or the electric pump gun). This will allow you to completely empty the board.
- Once the board is empty, make sure the air valve is still open. Start by folding the front tip of the board on itself. This means the EVA grip will be inside the fold..
- Fold the board in about 7-8 sections while making sure it is not folded too tight. Folding the board too tightly may create creases in the EVA grip material.
- Set the air valve to the Closed position. Close the air valve cap. If you do not close the air valve before the final fold, the cap of the air valve will damage your EVA grip pad.
- Make sure the board and the accessories are dry before storing them in the backpack.
- Once folded, put the board in the travel backpack, along with the rest of the accessories. Tighten the sides of your backpack to ensure that your bag’s content is not moving around and to maintain an optimal center of gravity. This will also prevent your board from unfolding and keep it in place.

How to grease the manual pump
Manual Pump Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your manual pump is crucial to ensure its optimal performance. It is essential to periodically check the lubrication of the pump's piston. If the pump’s piston’s lubricant dries over time, using the pump may damage the rubber gasket inside, rendering the pump unusable.
- The manual pump requires some light maintenance. It is important to regularly check if the pump’s piston is greased.
- If it appears to need grease, you simply have to open the top cap of the pump by unscrewing it and remove the piston.
- Carefully unscrew and remove the top cap of the pump.
- Extract the piston from the pump.
- Apply an appropriate lubricant to the black rubber gasket located at the lower end of the piston.
- Reassemble the pump by reinserting the piston and securing the top cap.
- Before using the pump, ensure that the piston is thoroughly coated with lubricant.
Proper lubrication will help maintain your pump's functionality, allowing you to continue enjoying your Maddle adventures without interruption!

Sun exposure warning
Never leave your board under direct sunlight for extended periods of time when out of the water. If you leave your board inflated under the direct heat of the sun, the internal pressure will increase considerably. Prolonged exposure can damage your board and may damage the seams.
In the water, if exposed to direct sunlight try to wet the board to prevent sun damage to the glue or seams.
UV print of paddle boards may fade / discolor after being exposed to the sun. This is a natural process that cannot be avoided. This is also why keeping your board as cool as possible, while also preventing unnecessary sun exposure is recommended. Proper care increases the lifetime of your product exponentially.
